GOAL:

 A fun and silly fighting tournament for Salus to relax for a day. The intention is using silly props gifted at random per round to have an edge against your opponents! No outside weapons allowed!

 

SUMMARY

The Bestie Battle Royale (BBR) is a 2v2 tournament where friendships are tested and formed by fighting with and against one another! In a very DIY-esque fighting rink in a tent in the desert outside of Salus, eight teams (Dadteam Tagteam, Scotland Forever, We All Die No, Mercury Retrograde, Knife to a Gunfight, The Salus Raiders, Screw the Pooch, and Scarlet & Violent) all competed against one another to see who truly are BFFs! 

 

There are three rounds per match. Every round the hosts, Beatrice and Akiko, throw an item into the rink which will give competitors an advantage and/or disadvantage when used. Occasionally sound would accompany the item given. Like a horse whinny for a stuffed pony, clown music playing when you turned a radio on, and the Danny DeVito quote “I’m the Trashman!” for the introduction of a trash can. The items were provided by spinning a homemade roulette wheel, encouraging the audience to participate, which eventually fell onto the hosts.

 

The match structure was four fights for the start of the tournament, two for the semi-finals, and one final. After a successful first round of fights, the losers went into the stands to get treated, while the fighters (who also got treated if needed) prepared for their next match.

 

The semi-finalists were Scotland Forever, Scarlet & Violent, Mercury Retrograde, and The Salus Raiders. All was well until one of the competitors on Mercury Retrograde (Nova), suffered another concussion, and the fight was paused. The hosts rushed to help Nova, both being medics themselves. After making sure Nova was safely given to medics in the area who would take her to the infirmary as quickly as possible, Akiko offered Memphis (of MR) and Krusty (of TSR) a quick 1v1 battle for fun while they figured things out for a bit. Which ended in a tie.

 

It was ultimately decided that The Salus Raiders would move on to the next round (for obvious reasons).

 

Scotland Forever and Scarlet & Violent’s match went as normal. With SF taking the win.

 

The finalists (Scotland Forever and The Salus Raiders) in the final fight of BBR, were given their own intro music and videos to start the round. SF, of course, receiving the bagpipes and the man screaming “sCOTLAND!!!! FORRRREVVVER!!!”, and TSR getting part of the Sonic X opening theme. As it was the final round, Akiko decided on a whim that competitors would get two items per round, until the third one, where she handed everyone something. The last match was, expectedly, chaotic. With Graeme getting cat ears, Callisto stuffing burnt lime jello into his pocket, Krusty receiving a unicorn helmet, Oak and Graeme having to share an item at one point, and more wild things. 

 

In the end Scotland Forever, which consisted of Callisto and Graeme, won the final match. Which made them the winners of BBR! With their own bagpipe version of “We Are The Champions” playing in their honor.

OUTCOMES:
 

Lots of laughs! Just a lot of silly things happened and helped brighten the mood of Salus for at least a few days!

 

Graeme and Callisto received a grand congratulations from Akiko, and gave them a customized championship belt each.

 

Cal also received the news that his daughter (Nova) was in the infirmary for a concussion a moment after, which he then proceeded to hightail it to the infirmary.

 

The BBR tent and stage would be dismantled and stored away for another time the following day, but that night of BBR? It was dinner time babe. Hongry.
