R-001 is extremely unstable in both its environment and weather systems, freak weather unnatural for the season a frequent occurrence. Nothing seems to last long. An unstable atmosphere has led to quickly changing microclimates which make venturing too far unsafe.
On an average day, immediate land surrounding Salus is barren and dry, with little vegetation due to temperamental weather. The air is hot and there seems to be little sun shelter. Temperatures plummet to freezing at night however, making travelling difficult even then. The surrounding terrain is highly varied in its elevation, vast areas of flat land that suddenly vanish into canyons and ravines or turn into steep climbs common. There are few bodies of water, and for those that are there the water is stagnant, rendering it unsafe to drink.

Most Fauna consists of small, burrowing animals and animals that are scavengers or able to thrive in proximity to humans.

Common animals include: Rats, Hares, Scavenger Birds, Small Predatory Birds, Foxes, Cats, Dogs.

Water sources outside of the Biomes are generally unsafe without filtration.

Flora that grows wild outside of Biomes is unsuitable for ingestion by humans, or is unsustainable to grow.
