GOAL:
To investigate and cease the oncoming threat heading towards Salus.

 

SUMMARY:

 

 What started out as a report made to Benji of a potential threat making its way towards Salus, unfolded into an ISON-led mission with the goal of investigating the mysterious mass and ceasing its advances. A small ground team twenty-strong left from Salus and ventured into the nearby ruined megatropolis Circuit City, following a strange tarry trail and a digital interference signal including the words “Come back.” Along the way, they met an escaped Simulata named Malivel; Sil’s long-lost mother. They shared tearful reunions with plenty of questions before they pressed onwards. Together with her guidance, the team encountered a horrifically deformed Simulata dubbed ‘The Castle’. Tons of cobbled-together rubble protected the once-human core of the monster, impenetrable until the furious arrival of Callisto – a second escaped Simulata, and Nova’s missing father. With his help in destabilizing The Castle with an electric blast, the team was able to finally take down the outer shell of the creature and reveal the inside as Garreth ‘Rookie’ Wylo, once affectionately known as ‘Rook’ by his daughter and loyal ISON member Ryker Wylo. The combined efforts of the team was more than enough to slow The Castle to a final, somber end at the feet of his daughter, revealing that she was who he had been seeking the entire time, even in his maddened state. 

 

The fight was not without turmoil — wild and panicked gunfire from Claudia struck out at all that was not from Salus, inadvertently hitting Aslan in the shoulder and starting an explosive fight that nearly divided the group in the aftermath. As the dust settled on the battlefield and the team reckoned with their bruised feelings about the threat rogue Eden creations presented, the return to Salus became a sad and troubled one. 

 

The team has recovered two beloved parents, laid another to rest, and outcast the last in their debates. The future is an unsteady one for those tainted by Eden and living amidst humans.

OUTCOMES:

Entity investigated and eliminated, Callisto Obtained, Malivel Obtained, overall tension of Salus increased.
